Description

People teaching in the CSIF can request a seperate account to manage their course, called an Instructional Account.  Teachers will often use the account for testing, a location for their students to turn in homework, or as a place to store material they serve on the web. 

Features/Benefits:

How to request this service

First request a Department account here: https://ucdavisit.service-now.com/servicehub/?id=ucd_cat_item&sys_id=e2fa1714133f83003527bd122244b0b9 

  • Choose Departmental computing account - create
  • Hit Click here to proceed
  • You should now see a form, put in the below information into that form with the below answers.
    • Put your name in for Primary contact
    • Put in your email for Email
    • Put in your phone number for Telephone. 
    • Put in “Computer Science” for Enter the department requesting the departmental computing account
    • Answer Enter the estimated number of users: (individuals who will have the login and passphrase)
    • Answer Will students have access to the account?
    • Create a login id such as cs[class number], like cs20.  If you want this account permanently add your 3 initials at the end.  For example cs20jwm, where jwm are your 3 initials.  
    • Answer “No” to Are you requesting a departmental mail ID?
    • Put your name in the Enter the owner of this departmental computing account
    • Put your email in the Departmental computing account owner's email
    • Put Meshell Louderman in the Enter the name of the Department Chair, Management Service Officer (MSO), or other authorized individual
    • Hit “Add to Cart”

The Support Staff needs the following information to provide you with this service.  Please cut and paste the below questions and fill in the information needed into an email to support@cs.ucdavis.edu.  Of course, Replace the XXXX with your information.

Subject: Requesting Instructional account for CSIF

Hi,
I’d like to create an Instructional Account in the CSIF because I’m teaching or TAing XXXX.  The Departmental loginID I created is XXXX.

Availability: 

Any Faculty or TA that is teaching a class that requires the CSIF.
